Prepare before you pack

Get your streaming ready
before you travel.

Taking your US streaming services abroad? Choose your destination and service, prepare the device you will carry, and test a real show or channel before departure.

Start with a checklist if the trip is ahead. If you are already away and something fails, go straight to the diagnostic guide for that service.

Choose your route

Where are you going, and what do you want to watch?

Select the service and destination that match your trip. Every card includes preparation, troubleshooting and a direct route to Residential US IP plans.

Several subscriptions, one trip

Start with the destination when you use more than one service.

Compare the service-specific preparation routes for Canada, Spain and Mexico. Each destination hub brings together checklists, account and viewing distinctions, troubleshooting and Residential US IP plan links. Choose the actual product and account you use, even when a familiar brand also exists locally.

These English guides are written for travelers using US services. Spanish translations are linked on the relevant cards; a destination does not automatically determine your preferred language.

Before leaving home

Prepare the complete viewing setup.

  1. Device and app. Update the screen you will carry, open the right app or website, and keep a personal-device backup if a hotel TV cannot be configured.
  2. Account and content. Check sign-in verification, your plan and the exact title, channel or event. Note which family members will use the account while you are away.
  3. Connection and real playback. Prepare your Residential US IP option, then play the actual content on that device. Repeat the check on the destination network; an IP lookup alone does not test video playback.

Prepare your US connection

What does a Residential US IP add to your travel setup?

A Residential US IP provides a US home-broadband address for the supported connection route. Choose your service above to review the relevant USip plans, receive access details, and follow the device instructions before departure.

Your streaming account still controls the subscription, channels and plan features. A connection does not add a missing channel, change an app-store account or establish rights to a live event. Service location rules also continue to apply.

Sources and evidence

Check what is documented before deciding what to expect.

Official help pages describe the service rules. Published USip results describe particular recorded tests. Your travel checklist records your own device preparation. Compare the service, connection, device and date instead of treating one successful result as a promise for every trip.

For example, Sling states its geographic requirements, and Peacock explains its service availability. Each checklist links to the relevant account, device and viewing guidance.

The review date on this hub covers its guide inventory and editorial guidance. It is not a new playback-test date. Read our editorial standards and evidence policy.

When the trip starts

Already away and seeing an error?

Finish the accommodation Wi-Fi sign-in, activate your prepared connection and repeat the same title or channel test. Keep the exact error message. Use the diagnostic link on your service card if you see a country error, VPN warning, missing title or playback failure.
