Is Sling TV available in Canada?
Sling TV does not officially support streaming in Canada. Its published service area is the 50 US states and Puerto Rico. A Canadian provider carrying the same programme is a separate service. Start with what Sling actually shows
An existing US Sling subscription does not make Canada a supported viewing location. First confirm whether the problem is in the Sling app or in a Canadian provider’s app showing the same programme.
- A location or 11-XXX error: use the connection branch.
- A locked or missing channel: check the account and package.
- Playback stops when another screen starts: check simultaneous streams.
- Only one game fails: check its channel and blackout before treating it as a general VPN problem.
Sling detects your location or rejects your VPN
Sling describes 11-XXX as trouble verifying the viewing location. Some VPN services are mislocated or blocked, according to its official guidance. That message does not prove that every VPN fails or that changing the IP will fix a channel restriction.
Try a Residential US IP for a connection-related error. Connect on the device you watch on, reopen Sling and retry the same included channel. USip provides the connection; your Sling account and programming remain separate.
Get a Residential US IP for Sling TV
Keep the same account, channel and device for your comparison. A regular Canadian connection is outside Sling’s supported territory, so switching the VPN off is not a reliable working baseline here. Use the detailed location checks and note whether the exact error changes.
You can sign in, but a channel is missing
Confirm the email tied to your paid Sling plan. If you are signed out, you may be seeing Freestream instead of your subscribed channels. Check that the guide shows All, then confirm the channel is included in your active package. An expired short-term pass or a subscription change can also remove access. A local US station needs a separate check. Availability depends on your plan and market; Sling Orange does not include streamed local channels. Use Sling’s ZIP-code lookup with your actual details. A checker reporting “United States” does not establish access to a particular affiliate.
For a single blocked game, read the blackout guidance and check the available broadcasts. A Residential US IP does not add a missing package or guarantee that a blackout disappears.
You want the programme, not necessarily Sling
Check the Canadian provider’s current listing for the exact show, season or fixture. Confirm whether it offers the live feed, an on-demand episode or a replay, and whether that is included in your subscription.
A Canadian broadcast of the same programme is not a Canadian Sling account. Conversely, a US Sling listing is not proof of what your Canadian provider carries. Keep local viewing research separate from troubleshooting an existing Sling connection; a missing Canadian search result does not diagnose a VPN fault.
Test the device that actually plays the video
If Sling works on a laptop but not on your TV, check the television’s app, model and software against Sling’s supported-device list. The laptop result does not configure or test the TV. A US IP also does not automatically change an app-store account’s country.

Another screen interrupts playback, or the player fails
For an interruption when someone starts watching elsewhere, check Sling’s simultaneous-stream rules. Orange allows one stream; Blue and Select allow up to three. Combined packages still restrict certain channels to one stream, so their total allowance is not a promise of multiple ESPN streams. DVR and on-demand viewing count too.
