Traveling to the UK?
Prepare Hulu for
every stop on your trip.
A London hotel, a family visit and a second stop do not share one network. Decide what you want from Hulu, prepare the device you will carry, and keep the checks you will repeat at each stay.
Does a Hulu subscription include UK travel?
Hulu.com does not include international viewing in the UK. This guide is for an existing Hulu subscriber preparing before departure. A Hulu-branded section in Disney+ is a different viewing route; it does not move your Hulu.com plan or Live TV channels into a British account.
Your Hulu travel checklist
Start with one decision: are you taking a series from the streaming library, or expecting Live TV and DVR? The answer changes what you should test.
Prepare your viewing device
Update the phone, tablet or computer you will take. Keep it as your primary viewing device instead of assuming every accommodation TV will support your setup.
Check supported devices →Open the app or website
Open your working Hulu app or Hulu.com and find the exact episode, live channel or recording you expect to watch.
Write down whether that item is in the streaming library, Live TV, DVR or an add-on. Similar-looking content tiles can have different access requirements.
Sign in to your Hulu account
Confirm your active Hulu plan and access to its sign-in email. If you have Live TV, review the Home-network rules before departure and complete any appropriate check-in while still at your US Home.
Hulu’s mobile travel check-in rules describe travel within the US. They do not grant international access, and a UK hotel must not be treated as your new US Home.
Prepare your US connection
Prepare USip on your travel device using its welcome-email instructions. Check the connection and then try Hulu; keep the setup instructions available for each new network.
A Residential US IP provides a US home-broadband connection option. It does not replace Hulu’s Home requirements or make a Live TV subscription portable overseas.
Play the video you want to watch
Test one representative item from each category you expect to use: an episode, a live channel or a saved recording. Note the device and whether the full video actually starts, not just whether its page loads.
Keep a supported mobile device ready even if you also pack a streaming stick. Repeat the same content check after each accommodation change in the UK.
Checks and connection choices are saved separately for each device in this browser. No account details are stored.
A UK itinerary needs more than one green tick.
For a trip that moves from London to another city or a relative’s home, use three separate decisions. This prevents a Home-network error from being mistaken for a weak VPN connection.
- Keep your real Home unchanged. Hulu’s Live TV Home is a single US residence. Living-room devices need that network for Live TV, DVR and certain add-ons. A US IP address alone does not make a hotel part of that Home.
- Choose the viewing category before you pack. An on-demand episode is a different test from a live channel. If you only need a series, do not build your travel plan around a successful Live TV test on the television that stays home.
- Repeat the network check at each stay. If your itinerary includes London and Edinburgh, treat the second Wi-Fi connection as a fresh setup check. With Smart DNS, confirm network registration again; carry your own supported screen as backup.
A Hulu logo inside UK Disney+ identifies that service’s offering, not a promise that your Hulu.com watchlist, channels and subscription travel with it. If you use Disney+ as a local alternative, search for the exact title and check its account requirements separately.
Recheck at the hotel, and again at your next stop.
- Finish the accommodation’s Wi-Fi sign-in and confirm ordinary browsing. Use your own prepared device first.
- Connect with your saved instructions. For Smart DNS, recheck network registration after moving to another network; do not reset Hulu Home to resolve a hotel error.
- Try the same episode, channel or recording. Keep the exact message and viewing category if it fails; use Streaming Doctor for that scenario.
