A television in the apartment does not tell you which app, account or network settings you can use. Prepare your own supported screen first, then decide whether the accommodation TV is a useful extra.
Can you take your Hulu setup to Italy?
Hulu.com does not provide international viewing in Italy. A local Hulu section in Disney+ is a separate offering. For an existing Hulu subscriber, the useful preparation is choosing a supported device, checking the account and planning the connection before arriving at an unfamiliar TV.
Your Hulu travel checklist
Build a plan for the screen you control. Add the rental TV only after checking its exact model, app and network permissions.
Prepare your viewing device
Prepare your phone, tablet or computer as the reliable device you bring. Ask about the accommodation TV model before assuming it supports the Hulu app.

Open Hulu on your own device before leaving. If you plan to bring a streaming box, install and open the supported app on that exact device too.
A listing that says “smart TV” does not identify its operating system, supported app or available HDMI input. Ask those questions before packing cables or a streaming stick.
Sign in to your Hulu account
Verify your Hulu sign-in on the device you will carry and access to any required verification. Review the device-activation procedure before deciding to use a shared television.
For a TV you do not own, plan how you will sign out and remove its activation after the stay. Hulu’s device-management controls are separate from the checklist stored in this browser.
Prepare your US connection
Follow USip’s instructions on your own travel device. For TV use, confirm the Smart DNS route and whether the accommodation permits the required network changes before choosing a plan.
Smart DNS routes selected service traffic rather than changing every connection. The IP checker can still show the ordinary network location; playback is the useful separate check.
Play the video you want to watch
Test the exact episode on the screen you will use. If you expect to use a streaming box or cable, test that route before departure rather than treating successful phone playback as proof of TV playback.
Keep your prepared personal device available if the accommodation TV or Wi-Fi settings cannot support the planned setup. Hulu Live TV has additional Home-network limits.

Ask about the TV before you pack the adapter.
For a stay in Rome, Florence or another stop on an Italian itinerary, the property’s equipment is an unknown until confirmed. These questions turn a vague “we have Wi-Fi and a TV” into a usable plan.
- Which screen? Ask for the exact TV model and whether you may use an external streaming device. Check the model against Hulu’s supported-device list; a familiar TV brand is not enough.
- Which network settings? Find out whether the TV or your own box can join the guest network and whether the required DNS settings may be changed. If the connection needs a sign-in page, complete that step before testing Hulu. Do not change the property’s router without permission.
- Which backup? Prepare a supported personal screen that does not depend on the TV. For Hulu + Live TV, review the separate Home rules: living-room access away from your designated Home is not the same as ordinary on-demand playback.
At checkout, sign out of a shared television and remove its activation from your Hulu account if needed. Keep your own travel device signed in when that is necessary for eligible downloads. A shared TV session and a personal mobile session need different cleanup.
Try your own screen before the accommodation TV.
- Join the accommodation network and complete any Wi-Fi sign-in on your prepared device. Confirm normal internet access first.
- Connect using the saved instructions and repeat your Hulu playback check. With Smart DNS, verify registration for this network and the permitted settings.
- Only then test the optional TV setup. If it fails, keep the exact message and compare app support, activation and network access separately. Sign out of shared equipment before departure.
