Will your subscription work in Mexico?

Hulu’s US streaming service is not officially available in Mexico. Prepare your app, account and connection before departure. The Hulu-branded hub inside Disney+ in Mexico is part of a different subscription; it does not make your Hulu subscription work there.

Five checks before departure

Your Hulu travel checklist

Check the device you will actually take.

Prepare your viewing device

Update the iPhone or iPad you will take and confirm that Hulu supports it. A test on another device does not complete this check.

Check supported devices →
Open the app or website

Install or update the supported Hulu app, open it, and find the show you want to continue. Do this before departure.

Changing your IP does not change your App Store or Google Play country, app availability or subscription eligibility.

Sign in to your Hulu account

Sign in now. Confirm access to the email address or other verification method you may need during the trip. Check that your plan includes the title you want.

Your Hulu login and USip connection details are separate. This checklist does not ask for either.

Prepare your US connection

Use your USip profile and welcome-email instructions on this device. Compare your connection with the IP checker. Hulu playback is a separate check.

A residential US IP is a connection option, not a guarantee of playback. Hulu’s account, location and proxy rules still apply.

Play the video you want to watch

Play an episode or movie on this device. Check playback, audio and subtitles. Repeat this check after joining your destination network in Mexico.

An IP-check result alone does not confirm Hulu playback. Successful playback before departure does not establish that it will work in Mexico.

Mexico: know the difference

Crossing into Mexico changes the streaming location.

A short trip across the border is still an international trip under Hulu’s location rules. Keep your app and sign-in ready, but repeat the connection check after arrival rather than relying on a successful test made in the United States.

  • The Hulu name in Mexico: Disney+ Mexico lists Hulu within its local entertainment offering. That is a separate subscription context, not a transfer of your Hulu account or full US catalog.
  • Road trip or flight: complete the five checks on your own phone, tablet or laptop before departure. If your Hulu plan allows downloads, prepare eligible mobile titles and check their expiration; geographic restrictions can apply.
  • Hotel Wi-Fi and mobile data: test again whenever you switch networks. With Smart DNS, recheck the registered network; changing the phone’s language or time zone is not a connection test.
  • Live TV: Hulu’s international restriction still applies in Mexico. A hotel stay does not turn the hotel into your Hulu Home network.
After arrival

Three checks when you arrive.

  1. Join the internet connection and complete any Wi-Fi sign-in screen before starting your connection setup.
  2. Connect on your viewing device. For Smart DNS, recheck network registration and whether your accommodation allows the required settings.
  3. Play the same video again. Record any exact error message and use Streaming Doctor if playback fails.
