ABC · Documented symptomABC.com cannot play from outside the supported area

ABC.com is intended for viewers physically in the United States or the US territories named in its official guidance.

What to do next

  1. Confirm you are using ABC.com in the US-service context, rather than Australia’s ABC iview.
  2. Check your actual location and compare the same unlocked video on your ordinary connection.
  3. If access is rejected while you are in the supported area, send ABC technical support the exact message.

ABC · Error codeError 28 or 43 on ABC.com

ABC documents a provider-session and browser-refresh troubleshooting sequence for both codes, without publishing a definitive underlying cause.

What to do next

  1. Sign out of the TV provider currently linked on ABC.com.
  2. Clear the browser cache and refresh the ABC website before starting a new session.
  3. Sign back into your participating TV provider and retry the same program; record the code if it returns.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP is not ABC’s documented remedy for these codes. Refresh provider authorization and browser state first; investigate region separately only when the message identifies it.

ABC · Documented symptomThe old ABC mobile or TV app no longer works

ABC’s standalone mobile and streaming-device apps have been retired; repeated reinstalls will not restore the former entertainment app.

What to do next

  1. Open ABC.com in a current desktop or mobile web browser.
  2. For television viewing, check the viewing options offered by your participating TV provider.
  3. Confirm where the exact show is currently available, including Hulu if appropriate; each service has its own access requirements.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP cannot revive a retired app or make it reappear in an app store. Choose a supported current viewing route before checking its network location.

ABC · Documented symptomABC.com episode shows a lock symbol

A lock identifies an ABC.com episode requiring sign-in through a participating TV provider, rather than an ordinary connection failure.

What to do next

  1. Select the locked episode and sign into your own participating TV-provider account.
  2. If you lack that access, check whether the episode later becomes unlocked; many do after eight days.
  3. Alternatively, browse ABC’s unlocked content or free streaming channels, whose availability remains subject to programming arrangements.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP does not provide a television subscription or remove the lock. Geographic access and the episode’s provider requirement are separate checks, and neither guarantees title availability.

ABC · Documented symptomABC.com video is choppy, stalled, or will not play

ABC identifies congestion, weak connections, and competing devices as possible reasons that video delivery becomes interrupted or fails.

What to do next

  1. Refresh the browser and try rewinding the program a few minutes before replaying.
  2. Close other applications and reduce devices using the same network, then check actual download speed.
  3. Restart the viewing device; if the same title still fails, send ABC technical support your device and program details.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP does not cure insufficient bandwidth or local congestion. Use a location-focused connection test only if the player separately reports a geographic restriction.

ABC · Documented symptomABC.com player fails with JavaScript disabled

ABC.com requires JavaScript for streaming and interactive controls, so browser settings or script-blocking extensions can prevent the player working.

What to do next

  1. Check that JavaScript is allowed for ABC.com in your browser’s site settings.
  2. Temporarily allow ABC.com in any script-blocking extension and reload the video page.
  3. Retest in an updated browser with default site settings; if playback remains broken, use ABC’s video-troubleshooting guidance.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP cannot enable browser scripts or fix blocked player controls. Repair the browser requirement first; a subsequent geographic or provider message needs its own diagnosis.

AMC+ · MessageThe AMC+ app is not available in your location

AMC+ is rejecting the detected viewing location; this message alone does not establish that a VPN was detected.

What to do next

  1. Confirm which country's AMC+ subscription and viewing app you use; regional catalogs and access conditions differ.
  2. If you are in a supported location, retry the same title on your normal connection without a VPN.
  3. Send AMC+ support the message, actual country and device if the location screen remains incorrect.

AMC+ · MessageUnauthorized Request after entering a password

AMC+ identifies this sign-in message as an incorrect email address or password, rather than a location diagnosis.

What to do next

  2. Use the password-reset link in the official AMC+ sign-in flow if those credentials still fail.
  3. Return to the direct AMC+ login with the updated password; contact support if recovery does not work.

AMC+ · Documented symptomPaid for AMC+ but the direct app does not recognize access

A channel subscription can belong to its selling platform instead of the separate AMC+ app.

What to do next

  1. Check the receipt for the exact viewing platform, distinguishing a channel purchase from an app-store subscription.
  2. For Apple TV Channels, Prime Video Channels or The Roku Channel, open AMC+ inside that platform.
  3. For participating TV providers, use provider sign-in and verify package eligibility before buying another subscription.

  2. Enter the account credentials and TV code in a computer browser; eligible provider accounts use their provider flow.
  3. Wait for the TV to update, then contact AMC+ with the device and activation stage if it remains stuck.

  2. Disconnect the streaming device from power for at least two minutes, reconnect it and retry the title.
  3. If needed, reinstall AMC+; report the model, app version, affected title and exact message if playback still fails.

  3. Compare with your normal residential connection and contact Fubo if that connection is incorrectly blocked.

Fubo · Documented symptomFubo will not accept this Home Network

Fubo requires a qualifying residential internet connection when you designate a Home Network for its home streaming allowance.

What to do next

  1. Connect directly to your household residential internet service, rather than a hotspot or public Wi-Fi.
  2. Remove VPN or proxy routing before attempting to designate the network.
  3. In My Account, open Home Network and set the current network; contact Fubo if eligibility still fails.

Will a different IP fix this?
A marketed residential US IP is not proof that Fubo will accept it as Home. Its Home Network rules concern the actual qualifying connection and exclude proxy networks.

Fubo · Documented symptomFubo reports TV devices streaming in different locations

Fubo permits TV-device playback from only one location at a time, including when separate home networks look like different locations.

What to do next

  1. Stop Fubo playback on TV devices in the other location, then retry.
  2. If every TV is at home, confirm they use the same designated Home Network.
  3. Use a supported mobile device or browser within your plan allowance when simultaneous viewing locations are needed.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP does not increase the permitted number of TV locations. Consolidate home connections and resolve active TV sessions rather than trying to disguise multiple households.

Fubo · Documented symptomFubo shows the wrong local channels

Fubo uses device location to select local channels: mobile GPS and TV or computer IP addresses can yield different results.

What to do next

  1. On mobile, enable location access and the device’s highest available location accuracy.
  2. On a computer using home Wi-Fi, run Fubo’s linked location test and compare its ZIP code.
  3. Restart the router and retest; send Fubo the result and your actual ZIP code if the mismatch persists.

  1. Type your email carefully on Sling’s website and check for spelling or spacing mistakes.
  2. Use Sling’s account-recovery options if you cannot identify the email used at signup.
  3. If the correct account still fails, contact Sling and include the device and when the error appears.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP cannot correct an invalid email or recover account credentials. Resolve the login identity first; changing connections is not a substitute for account recovery.

Sling TV · Error code10-50 after signing out all Sling devices

Sling documents 10-50 on several platforms after remote sign-out; AirTV Player may instead show 10-32 and appear partly signed in.

What to do next

  1. Allow up to ten minutes after signing out all devices before trying again.
  2. On Roku, Amazon, Android, or iOS, dismiss 10-50 and sign in again.
  3. On AirTV Player with 10-32, force-close and relaunch Sling before signing back in.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP does not reverse a deliberate account sign-out or shorten its processing interval. Complete the new sign-in after the waiting period instead of changing network locations.

Sling TV · Documented symptomSling channels are missing or locked

Sling may show the free lineup, a filtered guide, or content outside your current package rather than an access failure.

What to do next

  1. Confirm you signed into the paid account instead of browsing Sling Freestream.
  2. Change the guide filter to All and search for the channel again.
  3. Check your plan and local-channel coverage; a locked program can require another package or a parental PIN.

Will a different IP fix this?
A residential US IP does not add channels to a package or remove parental controls. Local availability depends on Sling’s coverage and your location, not merely a US address.

  2. Disconnect that VPN or switch to an ordinary network, then reopen STARZ and repeat the sign-in.
  3. If you are in the US and the message remains on an ordinary connection, contact STARZ with those details.

STARZ · Documented symptomSTARZ asks you to remove devices before continuing

STARZ limits registered account devices and can require removal of existing entries before another device continues.

What to do next

  1. Sign in to starz.com in a computer or mobile browser, open Settings, and select Manage Devices.
  2. Review device names and remove unused entries; you cannot remove the device marked as your current session.
  3. Retry STARZ after removing enough devices, or contact support with a screenshot if another device cannot be removed.

What to do next

  2. If the website has the title but your app does not, force-close STARZ, restart the device and reopen it.
  3. Ask STARZ about that specific title if it remains missing; include whether it appears on the website.

A useful next step

From a vague error to a practical check.

  1. Describe the problem

Choose your service and symptom, from a VPN warning to a missing app or a TV that will not play.

  2. Try the relevant checks

Answer only what helps with your situation. You can go back, skip a check you cannot perform, or start again.

  3. Take your next step

Get a matching guide, setup instructions or connection options. Copy or download your troubleshooting summary at any check. Add the exact error and device details before sharing it with support.

Your answers guide the checks.

Streaming Doctor does not scan your network, access another device or test playback. It helps you decide what to check from the information you provide. If you are troubleshooting a TV from your phone, perform the TV checks on the TV.

With Smart DNS or selective routing, an IP lookup shows the address used for that lookup. The streaming app may use a different route. Try the actual service on the device you want to watch on.

ABC.com (US)Platform check
Availability
American ABC.com serves the US and listed territories including Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa and US Virgin Islands. The ABC entertainment app retired on September 23, 2024; ABC News and Australia’s ABC iview are different products.
Subscription & access
ABC.com is free to visit, but some episodes or live streams require participating TV-provider authentication. An ABC/MyDisney profile alone does not unlock all TV-provider content.
App or provider
Do not reinstall the retired ABC entertainment app. Identify ABC.com in a supported browser, your TV provider’s app, or another current platform carrying the content.
Regional checks
The ABC.com selection is the US service, not a choice of national editions. Provider and local-stream entitlements still matter.

discovery+Platform check
Availability
Identify the product first: US discovery+, Canada’s new Rogers-operated discovery+, other national offerings and platform channels have different accounts and apps. WBD’s old Canadian service closed on February 17, 2026.
Subscription & access
For Canada’s direct Rogers service, use its new subscription and app instructions. The transition notice treated Prime Video Channels customers separately; do not assume every channel customer must resubscribe.
App or provider
An old Canadian WBD app can fail because that product closed. Check whether the receipt and app belong to US discovery+, Rogers Canada or a channel provider.
Regional checks
Choose the actual access platform before diagnosing region. The old US/Canada travel wording is not a verified portability rule for the new Rogers service.

Disney+Regional catalogs

Disney+ serves selected markets across North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Content varies by viewing country. The international Hulu content hub is not a US Hulu subscription.
Subscription & access
Check the Disney+ plan, profile age rating and regional bundle. Access to a Hulu-branded title in Disney+ is different from entitlement to US Hulu or Hulu + Live TV.
App or provider
Use the local supported Disney+ app. Check profile ratings for hidden mature content and do not treat a missing Hulu hub title as proof of a broken connection.
Regional checks
Disney+ has regional catalogs. Error 73 concerns current-location availability; confirm the official explanation before treating another error as geographic.

App or provider
Use the ESPN app or the access platform included with the actual plan. Participating TV-provider entitlements can require activation and linking a MyDisney account.
Regional checks

Fandango (formerly Vudu)US service
Availability
Fandango streaming, formerly Fandango at Home and Vudu, is a US service. Its July 2026 relaunch unified the Fandango name; some territory/content exceptions apply.
Subscription & access
Free ad-supported viewing coexists with individual rentals and purchases. A monthly streaming subscription is not the access requirement. The current free-streaming experience supports guest viewing; purchased libraries still require the relevant account.
App or provider
Look for the current Fandango streaming app; older device listings may still say Fandango at Home or Vudu. Check your library for a rental or purchase rather than looking for a subscription plan.
Regional checks
Fandango’s current streaming policy limits the service to the US, with some territory exceptions. There is no non-US edition of this service to select here.

App or provider
Check your device’s current Fubo support and software requirements. TV-device location and simultaneous-viewing rules differ from mobile travel.
Regional checks
A Canadian or Spanish Fubo subscription is not automatically a US subscription. A Residential US IP label does not establish an eligible Fubo Home Network.

Subscription & access
Check the Hulu plan and whether the title needs Live TV or an add-on. A Disney+ Hulu hub is not the same entitlement as the US Hulu subscription.
App or provider
For US Hulu, use its current app or Hulu.com and the sign-in associated with the subscription. Live TV and add-ons may require the Hulu app rather than Disney+.
Regional checks
US Hulu’s Live TV Home-network restrictions are different from a country error. Check the plan and exact message; Hulu does not support anonymizer/proxy access.

Subscription & access

App or provider
Identify the MGM+ standalone app versus a channel inside Prime Video or another service. The international MGM+ brand does not establish compatibility with a US app login.

NBC app / NBC.com (US)US service
Availability
NBC’s US app/site is separate from Peacock. NBC/NBCUniversal live streams require physical US location and the applicable local-market and TV-provider conditions; this does not describe every free clip.
Subscription & access
Some episodes and live streams require participating TV-provider authorization. An internet-only ISP account or a Peacock subscription is not automatically NBC TV-provider entitlement.
App or provider
Check the NBC app or NBC.com viewing surface and relink the correct TV provider if authorization fails. Confirm device location permissions for live content.
Regional checks
NBC live access depends on provider participation, physical US location and local-market conditions. Provider authorization errors should not all be treated as country blocks.

NetflixRegional catalogs
Availability
Netflix operates in more than 190 countries and regions. Catalogs vary by country; a title in one market is not evidence that it is available in every market.
Subscription & access
Check the membership, profile and Household message separately. A missing title may reflect regional licensing, profile settings or a plan restriction.
App or provider
Use the Netflix app supported on the exact device. A Household message needs Netflix’s device verification or travel flow, rather than a generic country fix.
Regional checks
Netflix says VPN use can limit the catalog to globally licensed titles and is unsupported for live events and ad-supported experiences. A title listed in the US catalog is not evidence it will play on your account.

App or provider
Use the app and sign-in for the subscription territory or entitled provider. CBS All Access is an older name for Paramount+, not a separate current app to repair.
Regional checks
US Paramount+ terms restrict use to the subscribed territory and exclude travel outside it. Other markets have their own terms; a subscription is not automatically interchangeable between regions.

App or provider
