Start with the account you already pay for
Check your receipt or subscription settings. Was the account purchased in the United States, in another Paramount+ market, through a channel provider, or through SkyShowtime? A familiar logo or series name does not make the subscriptions interchangeable.

Do not reset a working password just because the Portuguese connection cannot play video. First record the exact message and which player displays it.
Paramount titles in Portugal do not unlock your US account
SkyShowtime serves Portugal and carries a selection of Paramount Pictures and Paramount+ titles. Its Portuguese Paramount page helps you check a particular series. This is a local viewing option, not a Portuguese sign-in page for your US Paramount+ subscription.
If you want one locally available series, check SkyShowtime before buying another connection. If you want to use your existing US account, continue below. Catalog overlap does not establish matching episodes, release dates, plans or live-channel access.
The travel rule depends on where you subscribed
Paramount+’s travel help restricts a subscription purchased in the US to its supported US viewing territory. Visiting Portugal does not turn it into a local subscription. The broader international-travel explanation includes an explicit exception for US subscriptions.
A separate rule covers verified EEA residents temporarily visiting another EEA country. Being in Portugal does not make a US account eligible. Check your subscription market instead of applying European portability advice to a US purchase.
US account, blocked connection? Compare a Residential US IP
If your US account is stopped by a country or VPN warning, a Residential US IP is a practical connection option to evaluate. Traffic routed through it uses an address associated with a residential internet network in the United States. A standard VPN server labelled “US” may instead use a hosting or datacenter address.

Residential describes the address, not a new account or subscription benefit. It can be used through a VPN connection. Paramount+ instructs users to disable detected VPNs or proxies; a different IP does not guarantee acceptance or change its travel policy.
Make one comparison you can understand
- Keep your US account and device unchanged. Pick one on-demand episode included in your plan.
- Save the starting result. Record the region message, VPN warning, sign-in prompt or player error.
- Connect using your device instructions. Reopen Paramount+ and retry that same episode.
- Compare the outcome. If it plays, test your intended program. Otherwise, keep the message for support.
The IPv4 checker shows whether its own request uses a different address and country. With selective routing, Paramount+ may take another path. An IP lookup is not a playback test.
A working episode also does not establish local CBS access. It has separate plan and device-location requirements. Use the local CBS checks if only the station or a live event is missing.

Choose your connection, then test Paramount+.
Choose a Residential US IP plan for Paramount+. Your access email provides credentials and setup instructions where you select your device and service. Reopen the player after connecting and compare your episode.
The connection subscription does not include Paramount+ or convert SkyShowtime credentials into a Paramount+ login.
